German Factory Orders fall 1.4% MoM in May vs. -0.1% expected

Germany's Factory Orders dropped more-than-expected in May, suggesting that the country’s manufacturing sector recovery lost momentum, according to the official data published by the Federal Statistics Office on Friday.

Over the month, contracts for goods ‘Made in Germany’ declined 1.4% in May after increasing by a revised 1.6% in April. Data missed the estimates of -0.1%.

Germany’s Industrial Orders rose 5.3% year-over-year (YoY) in May, compared with the previous revised growth of 5.8%.

The Euro (EUR) is unfazed by the German data, with EUR/USD trading 0.15% higher on the day at 1.1775, as of writing.
